Not a limestone cave - a volcanic lava tube, with ropy lava floors, wall ridges marking old magma levels, and a 7.6m lava column at the end of the public section. The scale is the point: the passage is often 20m+ wide. There is nothing comparable in most visitors' home countries.

The coral fragments turn the shallows an improbable milky turquoise unlike anything else in Korea, with Seongsan Ilchulbong visible across the water. Combined with the rest of Udo - the lighthouse hill, peanut ice cream, cliff-backed Geommeolle beach - it makes a compact, genuinely memorable island day.

Best street-food density in southern Jeju: black pork skewers, hallabong tangerine juice squeezed to order, omegi-tteok, fried chicken, and cheap fresh fruit. It is where Seogwipo actually shops, so prices are more honest than at the tourist-facing coastal stops.

Green tea fields you can walk into, a small free museum of Korean tea history, and a cafe whose green tea roll cake and ice cream are the actual reason most people come. Jeju's airport city and the easiest car-free base on the island: Dongmun Market, Yongduam Rock and the densest bus and taxi network. Most scenic sights are 40–90 minutes away by bus.

Jeju's east-coast sightseeing cluster: the Seongsan Ilchulbong sunrise crater (UNESCO), Seopjikoji, Gwangchigi Beach and the ferry to Udo, all within about 4 km. Express buses 111 and 201 run from the airport; go early morning or after 16:00 to avoid tour groups.

Volcanic island of craters, black-rock coast, waterfalls and Hallasan mountain, reached by short flights from Seoul and many Asian cities. Allow 3–4 days; outside Jeju City buses are slow, so many visitors rent a car or book a driver.
