Not a limestone cave - a volcanic lava tube, with ropy lava floors, wall ridges marking old magma levels, and a 7.6m lava column at the end of the public section. The scale is the point: the passage is often 20m+ wide. There is nothing comparable in most visitors' home countries.

The coral fragments turn the shallows an improbable milky turquoise unlike anything else in Korea, with Seongsan Ilchulbong visible across the water. It is the easiest place on Jeju to eat well without a reservation, a Korean phone number or a car.

Best street-food density in southern Jeju: black pork skewers, hallabong tangerine juice squeezed to order, omegi-tteok, fried chicken, and cheap fresh fruit. It is where Seogwipo actually shops, so prices are more honest than at the tourist-facing coastal stops.
